Hospital [NDA]

Hospital.com is a startup aimed at revolutionizing the healthcare service industry. The main idea is to bring together doctors, services with descriptions, and the ability to order and pay for these services in one place. One unique feature is the provision of comprehensive services for complex situations that require travel and the selection of specific doctors. The package services are organized by medical agencies, which act as intermediaries between the clients and clinics.

Project Goals

  • Develop a draft design and a simple prototype for investor presentation.
  • Implement key functionalities in the application that align with the concept.
  • Design an interface that prioritizes ease of navigation and minimizes user stress, especially for patients.

Our Work

We undertook the following tasks to meet the client’s objectives:

  • Conducted a two-day intensive workshop with the client. Our main challenge was to establish three key roles: Patient, Medical Agency, and Medical Centers. We also focused on monetization strategies and identified essential scenarios to be implemented.
  • Created design concepts and prototypes. Visual language is often more comprehensible than text-based descriptions, as it provides a holistic understanding of the concept. It facilitates investor presentations and yields more accurate results when evaluating product development.
  • Based on an internal audit, we developed a second version of the concept with a completely different interaction mechanism. This version was presented to the client and investors.

First Version

The first version incorporated all the client’s functional requirements that were identified during the design workshop. Throughout the discussions, numerous ideas emerged, and we strived to capture them in the design.

However, during the implementation of half of the functionality, it became evident that the scale of development was enormous. Moreover, the full implementation did not meet the criterion of “ease of use.” Therefore, we decided to embark on a separate design round to realize the second version.

Second Version

While working on the second concept, our primary focus was to create a user-friendly interface for a broad target audience.

We based the concept on the idea of a “Virtual Health Assistant.” Technologically, the designer decided to integrate a Chatbot, Patient, and a Live Assistant from the medical agency. Many routine user inquiries could be automated, such as booking appointments, submitting test results, accessing diagnosis information, setting reminders, and general health inquiries. For more complex queries, the chat would seamlessly transfer to a live assistant from the medical agency. From the user’s perspective, the distinction between the automated and human interaction would be almost imperceptible. The project involved implementing intelligent integration algorithms with medical agencies, reducing the burden on operators and increasing the number of handled clients without expanding the workforce.

💡 In the draft design concept, there was a thought to create a 3D character similar to a popular game character. The character’s facial expressions would directly correspond to the chatbot’s messages.

We invested minimal time in developing a few simple scenarios to present the core idea:

  1. Ordering a complex service (bundle offer).
  2. Automating feedback and doctor switch.

The presentation was a success, and we decided to base the project on this particular concept. We further described various interaction scenarios with the assistant.

Through our work on Hospital.com, we aimed to redefine the delivery of medical services by providing a comprehensive platform that simplifies the process for patients, medical agencies, and medical centers. By leveraging innovative design concepts and intuitive interfaces, we aimed to create a user-friendly experience that enhances convenience, automates routine tasks, and fosters seamless communication between users and healthcare professionals.
